The entire landscape area has recently been renovated to highlight environmental sustainability and accessibility with lush native plantings, efficient lighting, elegant paving, and EV charging capabilities at every parking spot. The ambiance is distinguished, accommodating, and refined. Located on the intracoastal side of A1A, the wide beach is accessed by a deeded path located adjacent to the Four Seasons Resort, with lounges and umbrellas set up by staff. A centrally located TV can pivot and is retractable. A Sonos based sound system has high efficiency paired speakers placed throughout the loft. All cabinetry is custom designed, including a unique ceiling treatment over the sitting area (which "defines" the area within the larger space and hides connections for light fixtures and speakers while maximizing the height of the surrounding ceiling). Additional storage is hidden behind one set of sliding walls. To accommodate additional sleeping, a Murphy bed is built into cabinetry in the office area. The large customed design worktable can be rolled to the reading area, with identical power and internet hookups. Custom lighting is used to highlight special details and includes under-counter fixtures that adjust in color. The floors and bathroom tilework are porcelain tiles from Porcelanosa. The kitchen features custom stainless-steel countertops with a marine edge (great for preparation and containing spills); all other countertops and the master bath sink are Kiron panels (a heat and stain resistant polymer). The appliances are Kitchen Aid. A work room provides additional storage and "back office" workspace with a printer. Furnishings are classic mid-century modern, including chairs and stools designed in the 1930's by Danish architect Alvar Aalto; Eero Saarinen's "Womb Chair," originally designed in the 1940's and considered one of the ten best mid-century furniture designs; Swedish designer Bruno Mathsson's 1960's "Eva" chairs; desk chairs by Charles Eames; table lamps by artist Isamu Noguchi; "Como" sofa by Giorgio Soressi; a study rug by designer Anni Albers, one of the 20th Century's leading textile designers, and custom tables and accessories inside and outside by architect Michael Rubin. Among other art pieces, internationally recognized photographer, Austin Mann, was commissioned to produce the eleven-foot-long photomural; Miami based painter Babette Herschberger created the diptych at the entry, and eight Karl Blossfeld vintage prints frame the dressing area. Other artists include photographers Sherry Hayne, Chris Schewer, and an archive piece from Charles Jones, painters Lorraine Bodger and Australian Graeme Rudd, and a desktop piece by Italian sculptor Bruno Romeda.
